Got Headaches? There is a solution.
March 29, 2011 | 9:12 am

Did you know that chiropractic is one of the most effective solutions for Headaches? It is a common myth that headache pain comes merely from stress. Headaches can be caused by a blockage in the neck or spine. Just like back pain can be caused by a block in a different part of the spine!

What do I mean by a blockage?

Picture a backed up road or traffic jam which I’m sure some of you experienced the past couple of weeks with the snow. The same thing can happen with the nerves in your neck that go to the head. If there is pressure on the nerves in the neck this can result in a headache.

Have you ever hit your elbow, the “funny bone” and felt the strange tingling feeling down your arm and hand? You are not hitting a bone at all, but actually your ulnar nerve and then feeling the nerve pain down to your hand.

This is the same thing that happens in your spine and specifically your neck, that causes headaches. The headaches are your body’s way of telling you something is wrong. So the next time you or someone you know has a headache remember it’s time to remove the blockage. Consult with BeWell Chiropractic for a solution.

What is the point of “Maintenance Care” for your back?
March 28, 2011 | 10:29 pm

Many people can understand the power of maintenance on their car. A car can be run indefinitely with correct upkeep. Ironically those same people who get their oil changed religiously every 3 months, cringe at the thought of giving their one and only spine a tune up. Dentists also understand the power of maintenance care. A dentist can prolong the “life” of teeth with proper maintenance. Your entire body is of equal value.

People usually have trouble seeing the benefits of maintenance because they might be feeling well at the time and think everything is all right. If a patient went to see a cardiologist and told the doctor that he was feeling great, but the patient’s blood pressure was 160/110, their resting heart rate above 110, and the doc heard his valves slamming shut, then the doctor wouldn’t care how the patient felt, he knows the patient is headed for trouble. If a doctor were to just go by the way a patient felt, then that doctor wouldn’t be that effective.

There are three benefits to getting maintenance care.

    1. Prevent Pain! Pain rarely strikes without notice. About 90% of the time the signs were there, but the person going about their day did not notice or “walked it off” until the big one hit. A lot of people do not even know what pain free feels like; they have just accepted the pain. The old “grin and bear it” syndrome. Getting regular monthly adjustments makes a world of difference in how your body functions and prevents things from gradually getting “out of whack” and becoming big problems down the line.
    2. Prevent Disease! With Spine Maintenance you enable your body’s ability to heal itself by increasing immunity. Spine Maintenance allows the body to do its job internally to adapt to the stresses of life.
    3. Feel Better! Life has its own stressors and they come about in 3 different ways. Physical, Mental, and Diet. Those 3 things are always working against each one of us which over time produces effects in the body. Spinal Maintenance helps deal with these stresses and helps de-stress the body allowing the body to function better and increasing energy. I promise you you’ll feel much better when you maintain your body.
